A 1937  Cord 812 Phaeton Supercharged owned by Norman and Judi Noakes of Lake Oswego, Oregon was awarded Best In Show at the 2017 Forest Grove Concours d’Elegance on July 16th, 2017.  Click here for the complete listing of Awards results.

The history of this 1937 Cord provided by owner Norman Noakes:  The 1937 Cord Phaeton 812 s/c owned by Norman and Judi Noakes was found by Norman in Granville Utah, in a barn owned by Aaron McBride, who was the head mechanic for Cord.  McBride traveled for Cord repairing them for the clients that purchased Cords, Auburn and Duesenberg. He also was the head mechanic when Cord set the land speed record of 110 miles an hour on the Utah salt flats, the fastest street car at the time.  The Cord was purchased in February 2013 by Norman Noakes and shipped to Eckert Restoration in Molalla, Oregon for a full off body restoration which took the next four years.  Winning the Forest Grove Concours d Elegance was a high point in the process of showing the Cord Phaeton and our plans are to take to Cord to the Auburn, Cord and Duesenberg meet at the end of August 2017 for judging in the city of Auburn, Indiana, where the Cord was built in 1937.
