The Forest Grove Concours welcomes Walt Johnson as Senior Judge for 2017.
Walt has been involved with automobiles most of his life, from owning Ford, Lincoln-Mercury and Mazda dealerships, to restoring and judging classic cars. Mr. Johnson has supported the Forest Grove Concours d’Elegance for many years, serving as a judge, past Senior Judge, and emcee.
Now retired, he continues to tinker with vintage and collector automobiles, restoring 15 cars over the last 27 years. He has been active with several car clubs including HACO, the Packard Club, and the Mercedes-Benz Club of America. Walt has participated in many shows and Concours events, with a high-point at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance where is helped a friend show a car on the famous lawn.
His garage is currently home a wonderful mix of collector cars including a 1953 Lincoln Capri that ran in the La Carrera Panamericana, a 1963 Ford Thunderbird convertible, and a 1974 MGB race car that he is currently restoring. He has owned a wide variety of collector cars, from Cadillacs to Packards. The one car he wish he could get back? A Mercedes-Benz 300SL roadster.
For Walt, what makes the Forest Grove Concours special is the family-friendly ambience, and how the event attracts rare and desirable classic automobiles from up and down the West Coast.
